THE COMPANY
August Robotics is an international startup which builds application-specific robots to automate workflows for businesses. The company has offices on three different continents (USA, Germany, China/Hong Kong) and enjoys the support of some of the tech industrys most prolific VC investors.
August Robotics aspires to be at the forefront of the coming "robotics revolution" and has numerous robotic product lines across different sectors of the economy. Our robots serve clients in the exhibition, construction and industrial layout industries, and we are currently growing our team in Düsseldorf, Germany.
YOUR SKILLS
You must have:
- 2-5 years of experience in a hands-on role such as mechanic, maintenance worker, warehouse associate, electrician, technical support, or equipment installer.
- High initiative, proactivity, independent thinking and excellent problem-solving skills
- Educational background of at least a secondary vocational school, preferably in an electrical-related field or with strong experience in electrical work
- Experience maintaining mechanical or electrical equipment, such as automation systems, motor vehicles, or electro-mechanical components
- Ability and eagerness to learn new skills
- Excellent organizational skills, outstanding communication skills and a strong ability to collaborate within a team
- Ability to foresee potential issues and proactively seek assistance when necessary
- Willingness to work in a start-up environment
- Positive work attitude, a strong eagerness to learn, and a keen drive for self-improvement
- Willingness to work occasionally during night hours and/or weekends when required
In addition to the above requirements, the following skills are helpful but not required:
- Experience with warehouse or inventory systems
You should be comfortable to put hands dirty on real physical devices. You should be open to new experiences, open to learning new things, and willing to jump in and lend a hand on a range of different issues and tasks when the need arises.
- RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Robot Mechanic and Warehouse Associate, your responsibilities will include robot deployment, robot maintenance, warehouse management and other related tasks. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Acting as a Robot Mechanic and Warehouse Associate, to install, deploy and operate our innovative robot (Lionel) technology in the exhibition industry, and also in the industrial layout and construction sectors
- Over time, becoming confident enough in operating and troubleshooting our robots to lead robot deployments, with end-to-end responsibility for all technical, operational & client communication aspects
- Being responsible for all warehouse functions in our Düsseldorf office, for example loading and unloading the truck before and after jobs, processing deliveries, packaging robots prior to transportation, and the maintenance / cleaning of robot printing systems
- Occasional domestic travel to deploy robots at exhibition centers around Germany, and assist our clients to properly maintain their robots on site
- Managing and troubleshooting the companys fleet of robots on sites throughout the EU and making sure all robots are running smoothly at all times
- Carrying out ongoing maintenance of the robots at our workshop in Düsseldorf and on the client site
- Monitoring and maintaining the inventory system for robots, robot accessories, spare parts, tools, paints and other office consumables, and keeping the office organized, tidy and well-stocked
- Assist colleagues in other functions around the office where required, for example robot assembly and full-system robot testing
