We are currently looking for a Small Business Administration (SBA) Loan Assistant. This role will assist in SBA 7(a), USDA, and other government guaranteed loans as assigned.
Job Purpose
The SBA Loan Assistant will work with borrowers, production staff, credit, operations, and third parties. You will collect and review documentation and ensure proper documentation of loans as specified and approved by the Bank and Government guarantee program requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports the President and Business Development Officers within the division with their day-to-day tasks.
- Identify and collect documentation in support of and as specified for the loan packages.
- Review supporting documents (third party reports, loan approval, financial statements etc.)
- Order third party reports such as environmental reports, appraisals, credit reports, and tax transcripts.
- Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations that apply to your position and keep up to date on regulation changes.
- Responsible for staying up to date on changes to the SBA SOP to ensure compliance with the most current requirements.
- Keep up to date on Lender policies, SBA policies, and laws and regulations that govern commercial lending.
- May assist with creating or gathering documents in support of audits or in the evaluation of loan operations performance.
- Provide daily exceptional customer service support to both internal and external customers.
- Initiates initial collections action for past due accounts, according to Bank policies and applicable law.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, other employees, vendors, and SBA personnel.
- Must be well-organized and highly professional.

- Bachelor's degree (preferred)
- 3 years of relevant experience at a bank or financial institution, and/or loan experience is required.
- Excellent ability to coordinate across multiple teams/departments.
- Strong organizational skills
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products. Must be proficient with Navigator or similar technology. Must have strong data entry skills.
- Must possess exceptional time management skills and have the ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must possess strong communication and organizational skills. Must be able to prioritize tasks and work initiative.

Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Remote environment but may have infrequent occasion to travel.
- 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Overtime or extended hours occasionally
- Some travel may be necessary to customers and branch locations.

Offsite training or conferences may be necessary, with the possibility of overnight travel.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
