Shop Assistant (Night Shift)

Mullins Foodstores are seeking to recruit Part time Shop Assistant for night-time work at our 24hr service station on Pearse Road in Sligo.

These are permanent positions and ideal candidates should be available to work throughout the 7 nights of the week. The normal hours of work are 11pm - 7am which leaves the position unsuitable for students or those already working and seeking some additional employment.

Duties/Responsibilities

• To provide an efficient, friendly and consistent customer service to our valued night-time customers.
• Keeping all shelves and displays properly stocked with merchandise.
• Maintaining all shop fittings and surfaces in a presentable and hygienic manner.
• To maintain top quality standards in service and food offerings.
• Keeping the store tidy and clean and working to strict HACCP guidelines.
• To assist their colleagues with the safe and efficient running of the store.
• Receiving, checking and correctly storing deliveries of new stock.

Skills required for the job:

• Have a friendly and engaging personality with good communications skills.
• Comfortable working with members of the public.
• Must be able to work as part of a team.
• Demonstrate a commitment to customer service.
• Be available to cover all required nights.
• Previous night-work experience and/or a retail background would be a distinct advantage.
• Be available to cover all required night shifts.

This role attracts an extra Night Rate payment.
