Hours:
This role follows a 3 on / 3 off rotating shift pattern, alternating between days and nights:
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Average of 40.25 hours per week
We’re looking for someone who is flexible with working hours, as you may occasionally be required to:
- Join an on-call rota
- Provide cover for colleagues’ planned or unplanned leave, including holidays and sickness

The Role:
As part of our ongoing expansion, we are seeking a Site Bakery Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing maintenance and minor electrical services to support the bakery, production lines, and related areas. Your work will help ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations across the site.
Daily Duties Include:
- Planned maintenance and continuous improvements
- Reactive maintenance
- Excellent fault-finding skills, undertaking quality repairs
- Ensuring that the plant & equipment runs efficiently, smoothly, and safely, minimising downtime
- Complying with all health and safety legislation
- Completing daily work sheets and general record keeping.
- Helping to install and commission new machinery
- Maintaining mechanical and electrical parts and spares, sourcing, and ordering supplies
- General knowledge of plumbing, painting, fitting, finishing, and other general repairs
- Mentoring junior colleagues
- Working closely with the engineering manager and other engineering colleagues and other essential departments
- Attending training and developing course, as appropriate
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience of working as a mechanical/electrical engineer, within an industrial setting. Ex Naval engineers or similar welcomed
- A minimum level 3 qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering, (NVQ, City and Guilds, HND or equivalent)
- Apprentice trained
Skills Required:
- The ability to read mechanical or electrical drawings
- Forklift truck license preferred
- Basic food hygiene certificate desired
- Be fully conversant with Microsoft applications, including Word and Excel
- Excellent team player, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Capable of working alone, using own initiative
