We specialize in providing skilled and compassionate relief staff to agencies that support individuals with developmental, emotional, behavioural, physical, and psychiatric challenges.
Position Overview
We are currently hiring qualified Social Service Workers, Developmental Support Workers, Child and Youth Workers, or individuals with a related background to join our team in a group home setting. You will be supporting youth and adults with developmental disabilities—many of whom have dual diagnoses and complex behavioural needs.
This role involves implementing behavioural support plans, assisting with daily routines, and providing both hands-on and emotional support in a structured residential environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement individual behaviour support plans and daily routines
- Provide personal care (e.g., hygiene, grooming, toileting, showering)
- Encourage clients to achieve personal goals and celebrate progress
- Support self-expression and communication (verbal and alternative methods)
- Collaborate with the team using effective communication and problem-solving
- Participate in crisis interventions, including physical restraints if needed (training provided)
- Accurately complete daily logs, reports, and incident documentation
- Facilitate participation in social, recreational, educational, and community activities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and structured living environment
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in DSW, SSW, CYC, Psychology, or a related social services field (Required)
- Experience working with individuals with ASD, dual diagnosis, or mental health challenges (preferably in residential care)
- Comfortable working 12-hour shifts with rotating schedules
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Training or experience in behavioural support strategies
Required Certifications & Documents
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C (Required)
- UMAB (Understanding & Managing Aggressive Behaviour) – Certification or willingness to obtain
- Vulnerable Sector Check (Completed within the past 12 months or willingness to obtain)
- Updated Immunization Records, including:
- Minimum of 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccine
- TB Test results
