Job Description
The Swing Lead is responsible for overseeing site operations and guest services during swing shift hours at the Courtyard Homeless Resource Center. Reporting directly to the Supervisor, this role ensures the safety, security, and smooth functioning of shelter operations while supervising staff and enforcing facility policies.
- Tasks Include (but not limited to)
- Swing Operations Management
- Supervise and support all swing shift staff.
- Ensure compliance with shelter policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular site rounds to monitor guest activity and facility conditions.
- Address and resolve guest concerns, conflicts, and rule violations promptly.
- Guest Services & Support
- Greet and assist guests with checkin procedures and facility guidelines.
- Provide crisis intervention and deescalation support as needed.
- Communicate with case management staff regarding any guest issues that arise.
- Security & Incident Management
- Work closely with security personnel to maintain a safe environment.
- Respond to and document all incidents, emergencies, and policy violations.
- Follow emergency procedures for medical, fire, or securityrelated situations.
- Facility Maintenance & Cleanliness
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the facility throughout the shift.
- Oversee staff responsible for janitorial tasks and assist as needed.
- Report maintenance or repair needs to the Swing Supervisor.
- Staff Leadership & Communication
- Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
- Conduct shift briefings to relay important updates to staff.
- Maintain clear communication with the Swing Supervisor regarding shift activities and concerns.
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Participate in staff meetings and required training.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry and report writing.
- Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in shelter operations, security, or social services preferred.
- Minimum of one year of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong conflict resolution, crisis intervention, and deescalation skills.
- Ability to work independently while fostering a teamoriented environment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and reporting.
- Work Environment
- This is an overnight shift position requiring alertness and responsiveness throughout the shift.
- Work involves an outdoor or semioutdoor setting.
- Must be able to walk, stand, and occasionally intervene in crisis situations.
