About the Role

Skylar Racing, Inc. is seeking a high-energy, charismatic Live Stream Auction Host to join our growing Whatnot team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, entertainment-first e-commerce environment focused on retro video games, collectibles, and more.

As a host, you’ll be responsible for running engaging, auction-style live streams with $1 start bids. Your goal: entertain the audience, sell inventory from our warehouse, and create a must-watch experience that drives real-time revenue.

Key Responsibilities

• Host 6 live auctions per week, each ranging from 2–4 hours.
• Sell curated video game and collectible inventory via $1 start auctions.
• Engage, entertain, and inform viewers in real-time to maximize participation and sales.
• Showcase and describe items visually and verbally with energy and clarity.
• Meet or exceed performance goals based on engagement and revenue.
• Collaborate with our inventory and warehouse teams to prep for each stream.
• Promote upcoming shows through social media and in-stream hype.
• Monitor chat and respond live to questions, comments, and bidding activity.
• Utilize on-camera performance skills to maintain energy and presence.
• Operate and troubleshoot livestream equipment as needed.
• Maintain a flexible schedule for stream slots that best reach our audience.

What We’re Looking For

• Background in sales, acting, hosting, entertainment, or retail preferred.
• Strong on-camera presence — confident, engaging, funny, and quick on your feet.
• Comfort with unscripted, live environments — you should thrive under pressure.
• Willingness to learn about retro video games and collectibles (no prior experience required — we’ll train you!)
• Tech-savvy and familiar with basic streaming hardware/software (we’ll support setup).
• Must be available to work on-site from our streaming warehouse.

Bonus Points For (Not Required)

• Experience on platforms like Whatnot, TikTok Live, Twitch, YouTube Live, etc.
• Background in theater, improv, or public speaking.
• Familiarity with auction-style selling or livestream commerce.
• Experience in fast-paced DTC or retail sales environments.
