Waking Night Care Assistant part-time to cover leave

Job Overview

This position is open only to UK based residents and is to cover holiday and other leave.

We are looking for a kind and sensitive waking night carer to help us care for our daughter, who has profound physical and cognitive disabilities and requires round the clock care. She lives at home with us, in a relaxed and friendly household in Hove.

Our daughter is often awake through the night and needs attention and gentle reassurance. If she doesn’t settle during the night, she may require personal care and then hoisting out of bed for an early breakfast. You would be working with an experienced carer, as two carers are on duty at all times. Hoisting training will be given if needed.

If our daughter sleeps, she requires monitoring and repositioning through the night, so this is not a sleeping night appointment.

This is a part-time position to cover holiday dates and other nights off taken by our full-time carers. The salary is paid through PAYE, with pension contributions. The hours are 11pm – 8am, at £14.40 per hour and we are looking for a carer with an enhanced DBS check.
